SSQ's strong presence at source enables stringent quality control procedures at every stage of the process from extraction through to delivery. SSQ's partner quarries produce Del Carmen and Matacouta slates, which are of the highest quality.
SSQ are partners in the San Luis Slate quarry in Argentina , which produces SSQ Riverstone, which is used as a traditional roofing product, but also extensively within architectural applications including interior and exterior flooring, worktops, stairs and other bespoke purposes.
SSQ is one of the top suppliers in Europe and is dedicated to supplying only proven quality slates. SSQ products are tested to meet a range of international standards. Samples of all products are tested to the relevant British Standards and the premium products are tested to the French, German, Belgian, and American standards. SSQ Riverstone, SSQ Del Carmen, and SSQ Matacouta slates have been awarded French Class A and American S1 – the highest classifications
